Patagonia on the southern tip of South America, shared by Argentina and Chile, boasts some of the most dramatic landscapes on Earth. Deserts, plains, glaciers, mountains, valleys, lakes, coast, waterfalls - the list of incredible locations is absolutely endless. This 14 day photography tour, led by Ocean Capture founder, fine art water photographer Jonathan Chritchley, starts and ends in Buenos Aires in Argentina in a beautiful 4 star boutique hotel. From there we fly into Patagonia (internal flights included) and for the first few days explore the Argentinian side of Patagonia - based in the famous village of El Chalten, the spot from where many world class hiking and climbing expeditions start, we visit the desert like Patagonian Steppe and the Fitzroy Massif, the legendary mountain first climbed in 1952. This is a stunning area for photography, and we will take our time, taking gentle hikes to get the best view points of this amazing area. After 3 days in El Chalten we head off in our private vehicle, crossing the border into Chile, stopping along the way to shoot glaciers and deserts, and end the day at our new base in the fabulous Torres de Paine. Here will be spend another few days with incredibly varied landscapes - coast, waterfalls, mountain passes and glaciers. After 3 days we head back to El Calafate, from where we will shoot Lake Argentino, with its glaciers and snow capped mountains. A night here and then the following day we’re back on the plane to Buenos Aires for our last evening together.
Unlike other photo tours to Patagonia, we are offering single occupancy accommodation and internal flights as standard. We will be accompanied for the whole trip by an English speaking guide and Patagonia expert to answer all those questions you will surely have about this remote, fascinating land. We think that all these factors will make this trip and incredible experience and one that you will never forget.
