An amazing 7 day photo tour, starting in Johannesburg, to the marine tropical paradise that is the Quirimbas Archipelago in remote Northern Mozambique, East Africa. The archipelago stretches for 100 kilometres along the Mozambique coast and contain some of the richest coral reefs in the world, providing habitat for an abundant array of marine life. The area has never been developed and remains an unexplored tourist paradise. We fly from Johannesburg to Pemba in Mozambique, and from there by private charter to our luxury accommodation in the Quirimbas. We will explore the incredible IBO ISLAND, once the exclusive retreat for Portugese millionaire settlers, which with its wonderfully decrepit mansions and 18th century fort has a gloriously faded, Cuba-like appeal so wonderful for photography. We will photograph the dhow builders, the silversmiths, and of course the wonderful coastline and architecture of the amazing island. We will also photograph the remote and beautiful MATEMO ISLAND, with its fishing dhows, local villages, palm-lined beaches, an East African paradise for us to explore. And in between, a 2 day dhow safari – we set sail from Matemo towards Ibo on a large sailing dhow, island hopping, shooting the coasts, the dolphins & whales, the fishing boats, whilst ahead of us on another dhow is the support team, setting up tented camps on remote beaches, preparing delicious fresh food and drink as well as our individual tents. Indian Ocean, fresh food, remote white sandy beaches, luxury accommodation, wonderful photographic locations and an experience of a lifetime - A true Ocean Capture adventure!
