An amazing 7 day photo tour to the marine tropical paradise that is the Quirimbas Archipelago in remote Northern Mozambique, East Africa. The archipelago stretches for 100 kilometres along the Mozambique coast and contain some of the richest coral reefs in the world, providing habitat for an abundant array of marine life. The Quirimbas Archipelago consists of 32 tropical coral islands stretching from Pemba (the capital of Cabo Delgado Province) to the Rovuma River, which forms the natural frontier between Tanzania and Mozambique. The area has never been developed and remains an unexplored tourist paradise. The southernmost 11 of these tropical islands and a vast expanse of mainland forest are included in the Quirimbas National Park - a conservation effort to preserve and protect the area. We will explore these islands - the incredible IBO island, once the exclusive retreat for Portugese millionaire settlers, which with its wonderfully decrepit mansions and 18th century fort has a gloriously faded, Cuba-like appeal so wonderful for photography. The remote and beautiful MEDJUMBE, with its fishing dhows, lighthouse and white sand beaches, an East African paradise for us to explore. And in between, the 2 day dhow safari – we set sail from Ibo on a large, motorized dhow, island hopping, shooting the coasts, the dolphins & whales, the fishing boats, preparing to spend a fantastic few days at the incredible island of Medjumbe, in the luxury resort there. Indian Ocean, fresh food, luxury accommodation, wonderful photographic locations and an experience of a lifetime - A true Ocean Capture adventure!
